Enontekio

Enontekio is on the Finnish border, near to Norway and Sweden. Because of this, it is an ideal location to stay if you would like to travel around Scandinavia a bit more, as you can easily take day trips to both Norway and Sweden. Enontekio is one of the main locations of the famous Finnish salmon and because of this there are annual Ice Fishing Competitions. As well as this the town holds many other events, such as the Hetta Music Event and also Snowcross races. Kittila

Kittila is one of the best skiing resorts in Finland and not only offers skiing but also snowmobiles and reindeer sled rides. As well as this you can hire some dogs and have them pull you along on a sled, a great relaxing way to see the scenery. There is something for everyone here, with many museums and art galleries for the adults and then reindeer and husky farms for the children.

Ivalo

This is the location of Lapland’s oldest tourist airports, one of the places where Santa Flights and Lapland Flights started. So if you’re interested in a bit of history, then maybe this is the place for you. This is another place for Lapland’s famous salmon and there are many rivers around for you to see. Other places to visit include the gold fields of Tankavaara, the mountains of Saariselka and Lake Inari.

Kuusamo

Kuusamo is one of the most beautiful areas of Lapland and because of this is a favourite for photographers and painters. In the summer there is midnight golf game in Ruka every night, when in the winter ice golf is the preferred sport of the locals and tourists. As well as this there are the normal treks and hikes, as well as a small skiing report.
